Few months ago during Lithuanian F1 fans go-kart championship GP it was made suggestion to organize a trip to another go-kart track for one GP at least. Due to the fact that in Lithuania there is almost one good enough track, we had to opt some foreign track. Poland – too difficult, to enter to Byelorussia – visas are necessary, so “sister” Latvia was the best we could find :) Through web search we were a*** to find M-Co web page, all necessary information were there, with additional information helped Juris (Juric) so we just made the final step – booked bus and announce exact journey’s date.
On 1st Feb 2003 thirty-six F1 fans including their friends and family members left Vilnius. It was no accidents during way to Riga, customs also worked strangely well so we reached Riga on time – as we planned. In the beginning of Riga Juris met us and kept his kind company all the time we were in capital of Latvia. First our target was M-Co go-kart track were we went to do our GP. It was a little bit strange that we couldn’t go inside till the very midday, when we had to start our race qualification. Taking into consideration that anybody needs some time to put forms and helmets, very strangely seemed track’s personnel explanations that they do not add any time to our booked hour. We had to be on hurry but, anyway, GP was perfect, except, maybe start of qualification, when we needed things to be sorted out, but we rolled out and everything was fine. We especially liked the lap timing device, which was wery informative. Races went good, there were some good fights on the track. The best lap time was 22,42, it was set by race winner HaMLeT.
We’re also thankfull for Karlis (Cooper) and Daniels, who presented Latvian F1 fanclub gifts for the race winners and for our championship GO-1 authorities.
After the race all drivers were happy and impressed by this track and go-karts. All could feel the additional 1.5hp (in Lithuania rent go-karts have 125ccm and ~5hp) and the track is really difficult and request more physical struggle. And the most important – it was completely different than our “home” track.

After M-Co, when all willing have “tested” the new track, we went to Motor-museum. That was incredi***, what we have seen there! We even couldn’t imagine that there is something like these exhibits in Pan-Baltic countries! And photos, which we made there will be most favorite in many of our photo albums :)
Race, culture – that makes our stomachs request some attention :) So Lido was the best we were a*** to offer them. Very nice place, great food, kind service (that eve completely compensated M-Co “service”:)) – after long, impressed day we felt ourselves like almost in heaven.
But as always – everything glorious has the end and we had to go home. All the way to both sides on bus video was going best Formula-1 and other auto sport records, of course, all willing indulged in alcohol drinking (unfortunately, some “have indulged” too much:)).
It’s more than week we returned from this trip but emotions still burning and no one said he dislike this journey. And many of us are waiting for another trip to Riga :) But before we all really hope to see you in Lithuania, you will receive all assistance from our side, just note us if would need any information or help in organizing.
