'Coulthard's got a big head and he's square'

David Coulthard is not only bigheaded but the McLaren driver is also square - and there's no arguing about that because it's a fact.

That's according to helmet designer Oliver Schimpf. But he wasn't voicing his opinion on the Scot's character - instead he was talking about the shape of DC's head.

When Coulthard opted to try out the Schuberth RF1.5 helmet the company was forced to redesign it in order for it to fit DC's big square head.

[b]"He is a fine person and a fine pilot but he has a square head,"[/b] Schimpf told the Daily Record. "It wasn't just the jaw line we had to change. We had to completely redesign it for him."

"Ferrari sent us a scan of Schumacher's head. 'But then we found [b]David's head was a completely different, square shape and was a full 15 per cent bigger."[b]

Schumacher, though, has no problems with the helmet other than the weight of it. The Ferrari driver is expected to use the £10,000 helmet this season.

"It has ***n all other helmets in terms of safety. It is 100 per cent better in shock absorption and strength. But the weight still bothers me and we need to work on that," he said.

The RF1.5 is being billed by Schuberth as the strongest and safest in history, and in order to prove it they rolled a tank over it. As you do.
