Offtopic: Matt LeBlanc has agreed to a new two-year deal with the BBC to remain as Top Gear host, reigniting the show after it was throw into uncertainty with co-host Chris Evans stepping down after one series. W

Formula 1 grands prix will have standing restarts in wet conditions if the race starts behind the safety car, the FIA confirmed on Wednesday.
As revealed by Motorsport.com earlier this year, F1 chiefs were discussing the plan in order to avoid denying the fans the opportunity to see a real start if the track is too wet for a normal start.
Currently, cars follow the safety car for several laps and the race is launched after conditions are deemed safe enough.
From next year, however, after the initial laps behind the safety car, it will return to the pits and the cars will line up on the grid for a standing start.
Robert Kubica is looking to step up his return to circuit racing by targeting Le Mans.
The Pole's promising F1 career ended abruptly in 2011, when a pre-season rallying crash left him with a permanent arm injury.
But he has since competed at the highest level of world rallying, he did the Mugello 12 hour in March, and last weekend he finished on the podium after the Renault Sport Trophy race at Spa.
"It was the first time since 2010 that I raced on a circuit," said Kubica, who is now 31.
Kubica prepared for his race at Spa with time in Renault's F1 simulator, having been invited by team boss Frederic Vasseur.
"I wanted to know where I was," Kubica said, "and how my body will react on a race weekend. It's a real test.
"I wanted to see if I can race on a circuit in an entirely professional manner. Then I will decide my future according to what I am capa*** of."
As for what that future might look like, he answered: "For next year, I have two projects in mind.
"But what is certain is that there is a 90 per cent chance that I'll be back on a circuit," said Kubica.
Le Mans, he admitted, is one option.
"I admit that I was not very interested in endurance previously, but now it is different. And the 24 hours of Le Mans represents the pinnacle," said Kubica.
German carmaker BMW has made clear it is content for now outside of formula one.
"They walked out of formula one seven years ago and now BMW have signalled that they are not coming back," correspondent Kevin Eason wrote in the Times.
"Instead, F1's loss of one of the biggest brand names in motoring will be Formula E's gain," he added.
Indeed, BMW has announced that it is staying in DTM and teaming up with former F1 driver Michael Andretti's team in the all-electric single seater series.
"As well as Formula E, BMW will also return to the 24 hours of Le Mans endurance race", Eason said.
BMW board member Klaus Frohlich confirmed: "The commitments allow us to demonstrate our expertise in the areas of technology and integration on international platforms".
Danish media TV2 says Vasseur wants to keep Magnussen for next year, but Abiteboul wants both drivers replaced.
No more stockpiling power units
During any single event, if a driver introduces more than one of a power unit element that is subject to penalty, only the last element fitted may be used at subsequent events without further penalty. This is to prevent the stockpiling of spare power unit elements.

McLaren's Fernando Alonso will start Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix from the back of the grid because he is to test an updated Honda engine.
The two-time champion will get a 30-place grid penalty for using more than the permitted number of engine parts.
Reliability problems mean Alonso needed the engine to complete the season, but it also has upgraded parts.
The new power unit has a lighter engine block for better reliability and a redesigned exhaust to boost efficiency.

In the frame for a Renault seat is Carlos Sainz. Despite denials from the Spaniard and Red Bull, there is reason to believe a deal has already been struck. The switch back to Renault power by the Red Bull owned Toro Rosso apparently played a role in the deal.
Ferrari did announce a one year extension to his contract earlier in the year to stifle calls by Italian media to ditch the Finn, but it is now emerging that the deal is dependent on how Raikkonen performs this year. In other words, it’s not quite as sure as it seems.
Team chief Maurizio Arrivabene, a staunch Raikkonen advocate, is adamant that retaining the 2007 Formula 1 world champion was the right thing to do.
But then it is hardly certain that the Marlboro Man will still be in the saddle of the cavallino rampante come 2017 – ask Sergio Marchionne…

Jorge Lorenzo will swap his Yamaha MotoGP bike for a Mercedes F1 car this week in a test at Silverstone
Formula 1 champions Mercedes could enter the Formula E series in 2018/19 after taking an option to be one of two new teams.
The group have signed an option to enter the all-electric series for its fifth season. There are currently 10 teams competing in Formula E with that number set to rise to 12 subject to approval of the FIA.
"We have been watching the growth of Formula E with great interest," confirmed Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff.
"At the current time, we are looking at all the options availa*** in the future of motor racing, and we are very pleased with an agreement that secures us an opportunity to enter the series in Season 5.

Honda is desperate to return to the front and is doing everything it can to do that, even if it involves taking risks. At Spa, Honda chief Yusuke Hasegawa took the call to send Alonso's car out in qualifying even though he knew it was a risk. Alonso had to stop in the morning session because of low oil pressure and, after adjusting it, Honda sent him out even though it could have lost another engine.
There was naturally pressure from McLaren but Hasegawa had the final say and chose to do so. Alonso failed to complete a lap and Hasegawa took the blame. Yes, it's an engine lost, but the session would have been thrown away otherwise, so why not give it a try? Hasegawa is a racer and there is no doubt dramatic improvements have been made under his stewardship since taking over from Yasuhisa Arai.

After a torrid first half of the season it appears that Daniil Kvyat my be for a two year extension with Red Bull which is likely to lock him into a race seat with Toro Rosso for that periodd, despite reports earlier this year that he was set to be ditched at the end of this season.
GMM, citing reports in Russian media, claim that a two year deal with Red Bull is being penned for the Russian and with it putting to bed suggestions that Kvyat would be replaced by highly rated Red Bull junior driver Pierre Gasly.
