Rising IndyCar star Tony Renna has been tragically killed on his debut with the Target Chip Ganassi team, whilst tyre testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The 26-year-old's Toyota powered machine hit the turn three retaining wall at over 200mph this morning (Wednesday) and is believed to have become airborne during the accident. Renna was transported via ground to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
