The Williams team has announced that it wll be running Sergey Sirotkin alongside Robert Kubica in the post-Abu Dhabi testing. This throws a curved ball into the theories that Kubica has already signed a deal with the team for 2018. There is no question that the team is interested in the Polish driver, particularly as he seems to have found some financial support from Polish companies, but if Sirotkin is being tried out it suggests that the Russian either has more money than Kubica, or that he is offering a chunk of money for the test, in the hope that it will turn the heads of the Williams management.On balance, the first explanation seems to make more sense.

Klepsidra > Nu, niekas nežino kaip ten bus lenktynėse. RK labai geras developeris, nes LS, panašu, kad kol kas neturi tokių įgūdžių, tad komandai reikia piloto, kuris duotų gerą feedbacką. Ar tas atsispindės lenktynių rezultatuose - niekas nežino. Reikia būt patyrus tokią traumą, kad galėtum kažką komentuot, o tokių žmonių nėra daug. Jei gandai apie simuliatorius ir bandymus teisingi, tai bent jau greitam rate nebus problemų, klausimas dėl lenkimų. Bet, primenu, kad kai buvo F duct, pilotai po pusę rato važiuodavo viena ranka, net ir atlikdami lenkimus, ir nieko baisaus nenutiko.
Pady Lowe kuruotas bolidas man yra mįslė, PL atėjo į formulę kaip programuotojas Williams aktyviai pakabai sukurt, kokia jo patirtis su kitais mazgais man vis dar neaišku, kaip ir jo lyderio savybės. Na, bet gaalll, nes kitąmet turėtų būti ankšta tarp vidutiniokų, o Williams labai svarbu pinigai už vietą WDC. Taip, kad Williams kitąmet bus įdomi ne tik dėl RK, bet ir dėl pačio bolido.
Paddy Lowe bolido nekuria. Vadovauti gal ir vadovauja kazka, bet klausimas, kokio lygio tie asmenys, kuriems vadovaujama. IMHO, nematau jokiu Williams perspektyvu - rezultatai prasti, kitamet gali buti dar liudniau, nes tikriaus McLaren, Renault bus priekyje - biudzetai ne to lygio. Plius remeju nauju Williams negirdejau, kad pritrauktu - kaip tik - kazkas iseis kartu su Massa. Antro piloto rinkimai - neeilinio lygio komedija ir cirkas.
Neturiu nieko pries Kubica ir tegul jis grizta - bet Williams kuriamas visas cirkas gausiai vimdo.

Other teams played host, cooked the team food, ordered them pizza and made sure they were fighting fit. The team was given everything that could be spared by their rivals, from consumables to nuts and bolts that would ensure the car could make it out on track. They were given fuel for their transporters so that they could get home. Teams lent them freight boxes and paid for their transportation.
And when they unexpectedly took a podium at Spa, they realized they had nothing with which to celebrate. Williams, who had expected to take the podium that day, held no ill will toward their competitors and promptly arrived at the Lotus motorhome with cases of Martini bubbles. Social media flew into a rage that Lotus should not be wasting money on prosecco and celebrations. But the truth was that their success was being celebrated and facilitated by their rivals.
The same had been done for Super Aguri when they scored points unexpectedly. The team could barely afford a sandwich, let alone boxes of champagne. But McLaren, Renault and half the paddock brought them bottles of the good stuff.
