Man atrodo, čia ne prieš lenktynes buvo, o prieš šį savaitgalį, na bet, ne tame esmė. Tas reikalas, atrodo jau toks su juoku, tačiau viskas rimta, labiausiai patiko Lorenzo atsakymas. :D

Kas dėl šiandienos, tai vienareikšmiškai palaikau Rossi. Net neabejoju, kad MM galėjo važiuoti kartu su Lorenzo, o gal net ir jį aplenkti ir lenktyniauti su Pedrosa, tačiau jis akivaizdžiai pasirinko kelią, leisti pabėgti Lorenzo ir negana to, akivaizdžiai tyčia stumdėsi su italu. Galbūt Rossi pasielgė ne itin gražiai, bet tikrai teisingai.

Asked why he wasn't interested in the shenanigans, Kimi Raikkonen told Turun Sanomat newspaper: "Do you want a truthful answer?

"This is F1, not a circus. People come to see driving, and I think that's all we can do. This (rain delays) sometimes just happens.

"It doesn't bother me as everyone can do what he wants. But this is my choice. As I said, we are not in the circus," the Finn added.

Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene backed the attitude of his driver.

"We are in F1, not Cirque du Soleil. We did not do the same 'show' but I can tell you that on Saturday we brought disa*** children in wheelchairs into our garage," the Italian insisted.

Once the season comes to a close I expect things to begin moving more quickly but again there is not much point in trying to rebrand the team for 2016 because that is going to be a rebuilding year and I suspect that the rebranding will not happen until 2017, when hopefully the team will be more solid and more competitive. It should by then have a stronger engineering staff, a new team principal (Bonjour Fréderic Vasseur), and at least one big name driver. If you can cast your mind back 15 years, you may remember that Renault bought Benetton Formula in March 2000, but it was not relaunched as Renault F1 until the start of 2002.

Some details of the saga remain a little hazy. Given that they were the only guys in the room at their July meeting, only Mateschitz and Lauda know what was discussed, and what was or wasn't agreed that day.

That contentious meeting is at the heart of the story, along with the confusion over how urgent was the need to pin down the marketing side. Mateschitz wanted to do an engine deal first and then talk about the other stuff, but for Mercedes it was a clear priority.

The fact that Red Bull didn't come back with firm proposals was a perfect excuse to can the whole thing.

Then there's the perceived threat from VW/Audi. It's somewhat ironic that as it all unfolded, the VW emissions scandal not only cost Winterkorn his job, but also put any thoughts of an Audi F1 programme on hold. The guys who might have sanctioned a Red Bull deal have gone.

The affair has not done Mercedes any favours with Ecclestone, who made huge efforts to get the deal completed. To be fair, he now claims to see both sides.

"I don't blame him [Toto]. If I was him the last thing I'd want is Red Bull with my engine," he said in Austin.

"In defence of Red Bull, or Christian Horner in particular, the reason they cancelled their agreement with Renault was so they could do the deal which they thought they'd done with Mercedes, because they believed [they had done it]."

But then he added mischievously about that Lauda/Mateschitz meeting: "In Niki's case when Niki left Dietrich it was just shaking hands just to say goodbye..."

"On Saturday October 24, Massimo Meregalli went to Race Control to suggest they should call [Rossi and Marquez] and give them a clear warning before the the race,” a Yamaha spokesperson told Motorsport.com.

“However, Race Control replied that it was not necessary to call the two riders.”

This decision from race officials enraged Rossi’s father Graziano, who told Italian publication Oggi: "After such strong statements, race officials should have called the two riders and warn them.

"They only had to calm them down and ask them to run their own race without interfering with each other. It was their job to tell them that they were under close observation and they would be heavily penalised if one would do anything wrong.

“Instead of that, nothing happened. They preferred to say nothing."

The former 250cc Grand Prix winner added: "On the Thursday before the race, my son sounded the alarm bell.

“Valentino is no dreamer and if he said those things, it’s not because he wanted to create some controversy, but because he wanted race officials to come into play, which did not happen".

Carlo Pernat, manager to Andrea Iannone, concurred that this created an intolera*** situation on track between two angry, frustrated and uncontrolled riders, and felt race control had mishandled the situation.

"Race control made a huge mistake by not saying a thing after Valentino’s press conference," Pernat told Motorsport.com.

"After such strong words where [Rossi] said what Marquez did to him during the Australian race, race control should have called the two riders and ask then: ‘What’s going on?’ And nothing happened.

"It’s clear to me that race control should have called the two riders on Saturday night because it was evident that something bad was about to happen, because tension ran too high.

“I think race control took things a bit too lightly. I’m not saying that they are responsi*** of what happened, because guilt is another matter, but they did not manage this situation correctly."

Valentino Rossi has filed an appeal against his Sepang penalty to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in an attempt to get his last place start for the Valencia title decider overturned - or, just as significantly, delayed.

With the initial appeal by Rossi's Yamaha team against the decision of Race Direction rejected by the FIM Stewards', the CAS move is the last remaining option for Rossi.



"Italian MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi has filed an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the FIM Stewards' decision to impose 3 penalty points on his record following an incident with another rider during the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix race held on 25 October 2015.

"The FIM Race Direction found that Mr Rossi deliberately ran wide in order to force the other rider off line, resulting in contact causing the other rider to crash out of the race. For this breach of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Regulations (the FIM Regulations), the FIM Race Direction imposed 3 penalty points on the rider's record.

"Mr Rossi immediately appealed such decision to the FIM Stewards who dismissed the appeal and confirmed the penalty imposed by the FIM Race Direction. Since Valentino Rossi already has 1 penalty point from an earlier incident, this decision brings him to a total of 4 penalty points. On the basis of the FIM Regulations, a rider with 4 penalty points must start the next race from last grid position.

"In his appeal to the CAS, Mr Rossi seeks the annulment of the penalty, or at least a reduction from 3 points to 1. Together with his appeal, Mr Rossi has filed an urgent application to stay the execution of the challenged decision in order not to lose his place on the starting grid at the next, and last, event of the season which will be held in Valencia/Spain on 6-8 November 2015.

"An arbitration procedure is in progress. A decision on Mr Rossi's request for a stay is expected to be issued no later than 6 November 2015."
